Our View on Product Use and Care

At Parently, we know that children use products in their own way - scratches, marks, and signs of wear are just part of the experience. We want you to feel comfortable using the rented product as your own. If anything breaks during regular use, we’ll replace it free of charge, so minor issues don’t become a worry. You can choose to add Parently's travel/damage coverage, which also covers damages and wear that may occur with intense use. In that case, charges will only apply in cases of misuse, improper handling, or negligence.

From everyday scuffs to occasional accidents and rare cases of significant misuse, we're here to support you, ensuring that you're enjoying your rental with confidence!

Damage cases and how we at Parently differentiate

  • Wear and Tear

    Minor scratches and scuff marks may occur even with gentle use, especially on pre-loved products. Therefore, Parently covers maintenance and repairs for wear and tear that results from normal use - free of charge.

    Examples of normal wear and tear:

    • Stroller: Fading of paint or decals due to sunlight exposure; worn wheels; suspension or folding mechanisms becoming less smooth
    • Car Seat: minor fraying of seatbelt straps; slight discoloration or fading of fabric from sunlight; recline mechanisms or adjusters becoming less smooth
    • Children’s Bikes: Minor scratches or scuffs; worn-out tread on tires; slightly loose bolts or screws; hand grips becoming worn
    • Bike trailer: dirt stains or marks on the fabric from outdoor conditions; reduced tread; suspension problems; connection points showing loosening
  • Intense Use

    If you use your rental product frequently and intensively, there is a higher risk of it breaking. As long as the product is used according to the manual Parently will support with spare parts, repair or product replacemen to ensure the product works as it should for the entire rental period. If you select our damage coverage / travel coverage this type of damages are fully covered. Read further down the page about Parently's coverage.

    Examples for intense use damages:

    • Stroller: stroller handlebar has snapped (as seen in the image above); flat tire
    • Car Seat: broken sun cover straps; cracks in the plastic shell
    • Children’s bike: broken wheel; broken break cable
    • Bike trailer: broken hitch or broken wheel; flat tire
  • Careless Use & Missing Parts

    Parently does not perform repairs or replace products for damage caused by negligent handling. Examples include a stroller coming too close to an open fire so that the chassis has started to melt, exceeding weight limits, or using the product in any other improper way. In such cases, the customer is responsible for covering the full cost of the product.

    Examples for damages caused by negligent handling:

    • Stroller: Bent frame from carrying excessive weight; mold on fabric; missing parts
    • Car Seat: Mold on fabric; missing parts
    • Children’s bike: broken pedals; deformation of pedals or saddle; bent frame from excessive force; missing parts
    • Bike Trailer: Bent frame from attaching to incompatible bikes; damaged axles from overloading; mold on fabric; missing parts

Parently Coverage – A Worry-Free Rental

Want to make your rental experience worry-free? Then our Travel Coverage (for short-term rentals) or Damage Coverage (for monthly rentals) is the perfect addition to your subscription. Here's how it works:

  • In case of damage

    If the product is used normally and according to the manual but is still damaged, Parently's Damage Coverage covers up to 7000 SEK in damage. Please note that you must report the damage to us within 2 days.

  • Per product

    Parently's Travel/Damage Coverage can be used once and per rented product. If you rent multiple products, you will need separate coverage for each item.

  • Exceptions

    Damages caused by misuse or improper handling are not covered. For example, a melted chassis if the stroller is placed too close to a fireplace.

What should I do if my product breaks during the rental period?

If your product breaks during normal use, contact us and we will quickly arrange replacement parts or a substitute item. We strive to resolve the issue within 48 hours of you contacting us.

How do you inspect the product?

What kind of wear and tear is acceptable?

We understand that children will use products as children do, so scratches and wear and tear are perfectly alright. If needed, we will provide spare parts. You don't have to worry about minor damages. Only significant damages caused by obvious mishandling need to be compensated for.

What happens if the product is lost or stolen?

This rarely happens, but if it does, please send an email tohej@parently.seand we will get back to you. For more expensive products, we recommend that you ensure that your products are covered by your home insurance or take out separate insurance for the products as we may charge you for the total estimated replacement value of the product.

  • Easy pickup and return at local service points, all managed through your user control panel.
