Frequently Asked Questions

How long can my child sleep in the hammock?

As the official rental partner of Moonboon, we always follow the recommendations issued by the health authorities. Currently, there are no specific recommendations regarding the use of a hanging cradle.

In practice, your child can sleep in the hammock for as long as it feels necessary.

However, we recommend that the hanging cradle is used as a complement to a normal bed, as your child should also get used to sleeping on a firm mattress.

If you have any concerns about your child's sleep patterns or specific needs, we suggest you speak to your doctor or a healthcare provider for guidance.

Can my child sleep in the hammock during the night?

You can use the hammock at night without any problems.

However, it is important not to let the child sleep in the swing without supervision. We recommend that you use the hanging cradle as a supplement, as your child must also be able to sleep on a firm mattress. The hammock should never replace a real bed.

We recommend that you stop using the swing when your child can turn himself around. Always make sure that your child can turn his head freely and that his head is not pressed against the chest.

At Moonboon we always provide guidance according to the health authorities, but currently there are no specific recommendations on using a hammock. If you are unsure about your child's sleep patterns and needs, we recommend that you talk to your doctor or healthcare provider.

Does the hammock hurt my child's back?

There are no studies that show that the hammock is harmful to the child's back. Moonboon's hanging cradle is tested and meets all safety standards in this area.

Can I wash my hammock?

Moonboon's hammock can be hand washed at around 40 degrees C. We do not recommend machine washing, as the metal ring of the hammock can damage the washing machine.

The inner kapok mattress cannot be washed, but feels good from being aired outdoors once a month. Kapok is a hypoallergenic natural fiber that breathes and can deteriorate if washed. Smaller stains can be removed by rubbing a small amount of soap and water on them.

To protect your hammock and the kapok mattress, we recommend a waterproof mattress cover, which helps to extend the life of the mattress.

When and for how long can I use the hammock?

The hanging cradle can serve as your child's favorite sleeping place or as a complement to a bed or floor-based cradle. It is developed for babies from 3 kg and up. If you use the swing after your child has learned to roll around on their own, we recommend constant supervision to prevent falls.
