Important – Install the pedals on the correct side
A common mistake is installing the pedals on the wrong side.
This can damage the crank arm threads and make the pedal impossible to attach correctly.
How to do it correctly:
- The pedals are marked with L (Left) and R (Right).
- Install the L pedal on the left side.
- Install the R pedal on the right side.
- Always start threading the pedal by hand.
- If it feels tight immediately — stop and check that you are using the correct pedal.
- Right and left are determined from the child’s perspective when sitting on the bike.
The L / R marking is usually engraved on the inner part of the pedal — you may need to look very closely to spot it. The photo below illustrates where to find the marking.

Checklist before first ride
- ✔ Check that the handlebar is straight and properly tightened
- ✔ Check that both pedals are securely tightened and mounted on the correct sides
- ✔ Check that the brakes are working properly
- ✔ Check tire pressure
